Craftwork Cards Blog

Christmas & The Art of floristry too.

Hi Everyone

Kim here and wow! it seems like ages since I last was posting for you all.
Did you all see our lovely Julie on Create and craft with the gorgeous Art of paper floristry kit, I was lucky enough to be asked to create a little something for the shows as was my teamies and My goodness did we all create something special ! I was in awe of my fabulous team mates and I personally wanted to say well done everyone all the items were stunning.
Before I show you the items I made though sometime ago we created some Christmas cards with the free papers in Creative Cardmaking magazine, this was the one I made.

I went for a really contemporary feel to this one.

A close up shows the mini bunting I added to my stepper card. I believe the magazine is now in shops so be sure to have a look at this lovely feature on Craftworks cards in this one if you can.
I had happy post the day the next papers arrived  last week , I had just one day to create the next two items but I really enjoyed the project so I hope you caught the shows
Here is my wreath Made for the Art of Paper Floristry.
Unfortunately the photographs do not show how pretty this turned out at all  but the flowers are gorgeous with this kit.
 My lace and satin bow.

I moulded the flowers to wrap around the wreath and attached them using a hot glue gun, as the twigs are very open in this wreath it would be difficult to use a wet glue. You can see My fringe flower there in the centre, I took some of the gorgeous paper in the sherbert colourway and snipped little strands all down its length and then simply rolled it up , then fanned the paper back on itself to open the petals.

The wreath was a dark brown so I dry brushed a very pale sage green paint in places around it just to lighten it a little.

Lastly I created a card.
I used several of the flowers to make a large one for the centre too.

This picture showed how many layers I used to create this pretty look. ( it weighed a ton haha).
And even the inside didn’t escape having a few layers.
All the papers blend perfectly as they always do with Craftwork Cards. If you are waiting for yours to arrive after the shows you are in for a treat guys.
Well that’s it for me this Monday , have a wonderful week and be sure to stop by each day to see all the designers inspiration.

Your cards and wreath are quite simply stunning.
Having seen your wreath in the flesh, pictures never quite capture how great things look in real life.
    It is absolutely beautiful.
Thank you for sharing your ideas with us all.
