Getting Krafty with Frozen Forest

Hi everyone, Cathy here with some inspiration for the beautiful Frozen Forest collection.

As soon as I saw it, I knew this collection would be just perfect teamed with kraft card. I use kraft card a lot these days but when the trend for it first started,  I wasn’t really sure how I could use it with my neat and tidy style. I know a few people are still unsure, so thought I’d share some ideas with you.

For my first card I kept things simple. I cut a couple of centimetres from the bottom of a 6×6 kraft card blank and turned it into a tent fold card. I added a strip of paper and some fabulous hessian and lace ribbon I picked up in my local haberdashers. I added the owl topper and sentiment. To finish of I added some Perfect Pearls in the centres of the snowflakes.

For my second card, I wanted to show how kraft card is perfect for a slightly more distressed look (I don’t really do full on distress though!).  I distressed the edges of the paper and sentiment panel with scissors before inking with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  I added some hessian and string to add to the natural look.

Finally I made an aperture card using a kraft card blank. I die cut and punched out lots of snowflakes and added them to the front of the card, along with a little Candi. The inside has some of my favourite paper from the pad, along with the toppers, so the outside doesn’t need anything else.

I really could have kept going all week making cards with this collection. I really look forward to seeing some of your Frozen Forest projects too.

Happy crafting (should that be krafting?!).
