Using Alphabet Stamps

Hello and welcome to another one of my blog posts!

Today I’d like to share with you a little inspiration using the alphabet stamp sets.

Using Alphabet Stamps as a Caption

This card shows how simple it is to stamp a relation or caption onto your card. I used both the upper and lower case letter stamps, lining them up onto your block first to create your word. Ink and stamp it directly onto your card, positioning it where you require, mine is centralized using a yellow ink to match the ombre shades of the Cotswold Charm paper. My SISTER caption maybe a little on the pale side, but I quite like that.

Using Alphabet Stamps in the Design

This time, I have incorporated capital letters in my card design. Inspirational words are a great way to add stamping to your cards, and giving these letters a real focal point. I wanted to use ADVENTURE as it suits these Coastal papers. The word is quiet long, so I split it up to fully cover my pocket front. Again you can line up the letters on your block, before inking in a matching or contrasting colour.

Using Alphabet Stamps as a Background

This is a lovely idea to create a bit of interest. Show off the background of your cards by creating it yourself. Here I have lined up the word BIRTHDAY onto my block using capital letters. With an embossing ink like Versa Mark, stamp your word onto the top left hand corner, and heat emboss with a clear powder. Stamp the same word again keeping the same word spacing, heat emboss as before. Don’t be concerned if the word runs of the card, this adds to the effect. Repeat this underneath the first row, but stagger the word to the right by a letter’s width. Keep going until your card is completely covered. Paint the whole surface lightly with a little water, splash water colour paint in different areas allowing colours to blend. When dry matt your artwork onto matching coloured card. Finish the design by adding a caption and a few embellishments in one corner.

Using Alphabet Stamps as a Topper

Try making your own toppers with these stamps! I’ve used a short, snappy HI! to finish off my card design with the Chalkboard papers. Heat embossing with a white embossing powder adds a different effect, keeping that chalkboard theme going. I have also gone round the edge with spots of Stickles to add a bit of bling to my topper.

Get stamping with lovely letters! I hope I have inspired you to use them in different ways.

Thanks for joining me! xXx
