3 ways to use embossed cards

Hi everyone, the last two weeks have flown by and Christmas is approaching rapidly. ┬áToday I hope to give you some Christmas inspiration using embossed card blanks and the Frozen Forest collection. The card blanks I’ve used are embossed with stars and snowflakes, and are available to buy on the website.

For my first card, I’ve used the card blank as the base card and added elements from Frozen Forest:

I’ve emphasised the embossed snowflakes by adding gems- you can never have too much sparkle at Christmas!

For my second card, I’ve cut a panel from the embossed card blank and used Distress Ink to colour it:

I’ve used Broken China ink as the colour works so well with the snowflakes paper and ribbon. Distressing in this way really highlights the embossed areas. You could create the opposite effect by heat embossing the snowflakes to create a resist effect- the ink will then not adhere to the embossed areas and you would be left with white snowflakes.

Finally, I’ve die cut stars from the star embossed card. I love the combination of white with the dark blue background.

Hi Cathy, I really like the cards that you have done using the frozen forest collection. What a good idea to use with the embossed snowflake cards.
