How to…Make a Circle Gatefold Card

Hi everyone, Cathy here and today I’ve put together a tutorial to make one of my favourite card shapes, a circle gatefold.

  1. Begin with a sheet of A4 card and cut to 27cm x 14cm.
  2. Score along the long side at 9cm and 18.5cm.
  3. Take a circle die and place this at one end, making sure one edge overlaps the score line.
  4. Put through a die cutting machine die end first. Only the portion with the die should go between the plates, with the score line lined up with the edge of the plates. You will end up with this shape:

You can then decorate the inside and outside of the card in anyway you wish. Of course circle toppers are ideal but you can easily cut papers to fit the circle. I used Floral Chalkboard and Pampered Pets for my cards and kept decoration simple.

Of course you could use any shape die instead of a circle- a hexagon would work really well too.

Thanks for reading today. As always I look forward to seeing what you make.

Happy crafting
