Beginners’ guide to Mini Albums

Hi everyone, Cathy here and today I’m showing you how to make a simple mini album. It’s the first time I’ve made one of these as I’ve always been a little nervous, but couldn’t believe how easy it was. I’ve used the new Meadow collection to decorate mine, but any Craftwork Cards collection would be perfect.

My album is designed to hold 6×4 photos but these instructions can be adapted to make a bigger album.

1. Cut your card base. I have used kraft card for mine and cut 3 pieces 6.5″×5″, 1 piece 6.5″ × 4.5″ and 2 pieces 6 3/4 ” × 4 5/8″.

2. Score the first 3 pieces half an inch in from the left hand side. To assemble, add a thin piece of tape or glue to the very edge of your scored tab as shown.

3. Stick the pages together, adding the smallest piece of card to the third tab. Add the largest card to the front and back to make the covers.

4. Finally decorate your album. I have created three different types of pages; one has space to add a photo and the other two have pockets. I have made photo mats to go in the pockets but they could hold momentos or journalling cards instead.

My next project will be another album, this time using the Shabby Chic collection for my Mum.

I really hope you will give making a mini album a go and would love to see what you make.

Happy crafting
